Il Tebbio is a romantic mediaeval hamlet in the heart of Mugello, 35 km from Florence; you get here from Londa, 5 km far, along a winding road, spiralling through fields and woods, and you find yourself in a unique unspoiled setting.
Only the blue eye of a recently installed swimming pool glittering in the sun, will tell you that you are in the XXIst century. Every other manufact dates back to the XVI century.
The Marchesi Dufour Berte family who own the hamlet, consisting in 5 buildings, and other buildings - former
farmhouses and hay barns around the pool - have patiently restored and tastefully furnished the different places, maintaining as much as possible their original features and characteristics. Special care has been taken in creating a simple and comfortable atmosphere.
Each house has a different flair though the materials they were built with are the same: exposed chestnut beams, terracotta or stone floor, beautiful stone walls.
The size of the buildings depends on their original function: hay barns host three people at the most, while farmhouses, which were meant to host large farmers' family offer hospitality up to seven people.
Privacy is guaranteed: each building has a private entrance and garden.
Panoramic views of the surrounding country side full of new and old olive groves can be enjoyed from each house.
The location is ideal for day trips and sightseeing to historical cities like Florence (35 km), Arezzo (60 km), Siena (90 km), Pisa (120 km), or just for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting away from the common touristic routes.
The small town of Londa (5 km) offers all essential services (food shops, bars, restaurants, bank, post office, tennis court , etc.)
The green country side and the pure fresh air of this pre-appenine region are also good starting points for further exploration of this beautiful ancient part of Tuscany which shares with Casentino the presence of a National Park, "Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi".
Activities that you can look at "Il Trebbio" in summer months once a week:
- wine tasting tours to well known wineries in the close Chianti Rufina area
- private cooking classes (1-4 people maximum) on request
- horse back riding trips through the beautiful woodland area above Londa
- guided visits to the National Park

This is the oldest house of "Il Trebbio" hamlet it dates back to the XIII century and it was originally a watch tower. The rooms are all on one floor and the living room is central.
Its romantic wide living room with an old stone fire place offers a wonderful view of the valley. The house is surrounded by a very nice garden well equipped with outside furniture. Besides in the very sunny days guests have the possibility to sit outside under the beautiful stone porch adjoining the house.

"Casa Arco" is a beautiful 2 people farmhouse in natural stone that dates back to the 18th century. It was the place where olive oil was made and still retains some of its original characteristics in the living room. The decoration of the house with its traditional Tuscan style furniture is tasteful and comfortable. The house has a well kept garden with outside furniture.
