Set in the splendid Tuscan countryside west of Siena, Borgo Gabri is a group of four large country houses placed around courtyards, threshing-floors and green lawns.
Although the location and name are of Roman origin the actual buildings were constructed in the 17th century with additions and changes until 1850.
All the restorations are authentic and done in the original materials preserving the original little vaults and chestnut ceiling, beams, walls in stone and rustic plasterwork.
All of the 13 apartments are independent, personalized and fully furnished, with ample garden and terrace areas for leisure. The perfume of flowers and plants surround the swimming pool, and a barbecue is at guests' disposal.
There is a restaurant for the guests, a small shop with typical Tuscan products and basic commodities, a library room with an internet point, a laundry and a large swimming pool (8x16 meters).
Extra historical elements that were a part of country life are a rustic chapel and an enormous wood oven that still works perfectly.
Borgo Gabri is an ideal spot for combining visits to the cultural centres of Tuscany such as Volterra (18 km), San Gimignano (20 km), Siena (35 km), km), Florence (65 km), Pisa ( 80 km), as well as relaxing on the sandy beaches of the close Tyrrhenian coast (60 km).
The characteristic restaurant, which used to be the old olive press, is the ideal place for a romantic candlelight dinner overlooking the amazing countryside, or a light lunch on the panoramic terrace. Breakfast can also be arranged on request.
The Borgo also offers an up-to-date technically equipped conference room large enough for 80 persons. Music, art, pottery and cooking courses are available throughout the year.

- Ground floor - The entrance of this apartment is formed of a glass door with an arch onto the old courtyard. Like the others, the special plaster work walls expose special old architectural details in stone and bricks. The ceilings in little vaults with "terracotta" are mostly original. The space of the kitchen-living room extends to an area with a double sofa-bed with a curtain to close it off and a double bedroom, bath and entrance to it created especially for handicap use (wheel-chair)

- Ground floor - Olivo is a unique apartment build on two levels with two entrances which have been created by joining old country-house area which was once the stables of 'The Borgo'. The main entrance is on the higher level which leads you to two rooms, each with two beds. The smaller room was created from the 'old kitchen'. The colourful bathroom which was once an external room to the old house has now been added to the apartment. The second bedroom has a splendid view of the "Borgo" and beautiful countryside, also with private bath. The staircase of iron and wood, descends to the beautifully decorated kitchen-living room area which also has a fireplace. The beautiful glass door near the fireplace leads you to a private, garden-like area where you can enjoy the views of the countryside;

- Ground floor - There are 3 entrances: the main one has a large arch with stairs and a small exterior space facing the garden and entering into the kitchen-living room. This room has interesting old architectural elements exposed and a kitchen with a fire place and on the floor with ceramic mosaic inserts in the pavement. One bedroom as a door onto the garden and a private shower bathroom. The other has a larger shower and bath. This room has also an outside door connecting to the "Borgo" with three stairs and part of the old wooden manger;

- First floor - On the upper floor with a covered porch in stone looking toward the courtyard, there is an ample kitchen-living room with a big fireplace in sandstone, grey "pietra serena". It is paved with original traditional "terracotta" with two double bedrooms each with private shower bath and another bedroom with an outside shower bath between it and the living room. The stairs on the west side of the facade, brings to a 22 M2 terrace for this apartment's use only
